I was surprised to see the answers to this puzzle. I thought that I had solved it. I think my solution is a possible solution. Using the theme “double or nothing”, I left two circles with no letters in them. The omission at the top middle fit the clues. Six down becomes “toy gun”. 17 across becomes “died”. The omission at the bottom right also fits. 59 across becomes “flings”. 46 down becomes “seals”. What do you think? I’ll admit I’ve never come across a puzzle with blank squares in it.
